Call for Entries!

Hello Dear Gnosis Family & Friends!

May is Lupus Awareness Month, and what better way to cap it off than with an official “Dance for Another Day” update? We’re thrilled to announce the *OFFICIAL CALL FOR ENTRIES* for this year’s charity dance showcase benefiting the Alliance for Lupus Research!

“Dance for Another Day” 2014 will take place on Saturday, December 6th at the Lindland Theatre in San Francisco. This is an exciting venue for DFAD, not only because the space is truly outstanding but also because it opens our doors to a whole new generation of audience members- and, we hope, future dancers! And since education has always been such a strong part of our mission at DFAD, we’re especially blessed to have the support of the Archbishop Riordan H.S. community in bringing this year’s show to life.

So it is now our great joy and honor to invite YOU to join the cast of our Fifth “Dance for Another Day”- an unforgettable experience of dance and community for a great cause. We look forward to dancing with you!

**WHO?
You! Professional, Pro/Am, Semi-pro, and Student/Teacher performers in ALL styles of dance. Previous show line-ups have ranged from modern to hip-hop to tap, salsa, swing, tango, Afro-Brazilian, ballroom, bellydance and more. Diversity is the essence of this production and we can hardly wait to see what 2014 will bring!

**WHAT?
The 5th Annual “Dance for Another Day” Charity Dance Showcase
Benefiting the Alliance for Lupus Research
This is a completely independent, not-for-profit event and 100% of the evening’s proceeds are donated to the ALR.

**WHEN?
December 3-6, 2014 (Tech Rehearsals Dec. 3-4, Dress Rehearsals and Show Dec. 6)

**WHERE?
The Lindland Theatre
Archbishop Riordan High School
175 Phelan Ave. San Francisco, CA 94112
(Right next to CCSF, with plenty of parking!)

**WHY?
Lupus affects more than 1 million Americans, and many more go undiagnosed because the symptoms of lupus often mimic those of other conditions. There is no cure, and the current treatments are often as devastating– and sometimes even as deadly– as the disease itself. The ALR is working to change this and we want to help. Since 2008, you’ve helped us raise thousands for the ALR while creating a unique and fun open forum for our beautiful and diverse dance community. Ask any of our previous years’ performers and they’ll surely tell you, DFAD is more than just a stellar dance show- we are family!

**HOW?
“Like” us at http://www.facebook.com/danceforanotherday and visit http://www.danceforanotherday.com for more info. Then send us an FB message or email DANCEFORANOTHERDAY@GMAIL.COM today if you’d like to be part of this year’s cast or crew. We’ll contact you right away with all of the vital details about the entry process and requirements for submissions. And please remember to spread the word to other dancers and teachers/studios that may not be on our list so they can get in on the action, too.

We’ve already got some extremely talented and fun performers on board, so we can confidently say that this year’s performance promises to be a blast- we hope you’ll join us in making this our best DFAD yet!
